After the biggest VR stories? Here’s our latest roundup of news from the past two weeks.

VR hardware has seen some significant developments recently. Horizon OS will be licensed for third-party headsets, Quest will remove App Lab, Quest v65 was released, Meta is creating a “space OS framework”, while Ray-Ban Meta Glasses added visual AI. Apple Vision Pro 2 is targeting a late 2026 release, over 50% of Fortune 100 companies use Vision Pro, Tilt Five is on sale, and Quest 3 is almost tied with Valve Index on SteamVR.

VR gaming saw two major announcements: Batman: Arkham Shadow and Alien: Rogue Incursion. EA Sports WRC got PC VR support, Dungeons of Eternity released its spring update, C-Smash VRS got a new mode, Walkabout added a Venice course, and Pistol Whip revealed the Voidslayer collection. New releases include Astra, Contractors Showdown, Nope Challenge, Agent Simulator, Smalland VR and Homeworld VR. Finally, we got hands-on with Mannequin, Arcade Paradise VR, JFK Memento, and Skera VR.

Puzzling Places gets a visual update and online multiplayer on PSVR 2

Puzzling Places received a free PSVR 2 update this week. Introduced two-player online multiplayer that supports cross-play with Quest and Pico users, along with a 1.45x increase in render resolution. In addition, realities.io also dropped the “focus on Berlin”.24 monthly package‘ with two new 1000-piece puzzles.

Zengence mixes VR breathing exercises with an action shooter

Developed by DeepWell DTx, Zengence: Take Aim with Every Breath describes itself as “part action game and part breath management exercise.” Seeing that you take control of your inner strength to silence your anxieties, you are tasked with defeating the deadly ghostly creatures and restoring balance to these ancient lands. This is available now after Shadows Fall in Quest.

Nope Challenge adds teleport move and improved spin


Nope Challenge, a psychological game that lets you face over 40 common phobias, received its first patch on Quest. The patch introduces teleport movement, improvements to quick camera rotation, an updated menu, and other small fixes. Full details can be found here.

  • EA Sports released a first gameplay look for F1 24, Codemasters’ latest entry in the annual racing series that supports PC VR.
  • Sugar Mess Lets Play Jolly Battle has received a playable demo on PSVR2.
  • Meta and the Soapstone Comedy Club are hosting a virtual reality comedy series, Soapstone Comedy Presents, at Meta Horizon Worlds on May 16.
  • Hide The Corpse, a VR physics-based comedy puzzler, released a free demo on SideQuest and launched a Kickstarter campaign.
  • Eli Roth’s “The Faceless Lady,” a six-episode VR TV series, aired its finale earlier this week.
  • Unity, the leading engine for virtual reality game development, named Matthew Bromberg as its new CEO.
  • Resolution Games (Demeo, Blaston) has announced Johan Gstrin as its new Chief Technology Officer (CTO).
  • Dungeon Full Dive, a virtual reality tabletop RPG toolkit based on Dungeons & Dragons 5e, has released the free “Player Edition” after a last-minute delay.
  • Trace is a new AR startup founded by three former Magic Leap developers that aims to create location-based AR experiences.
  • The Tent is a dramatic narrative tabletop AR experience set in Los Angeles.
  • Recently shown at the NewImages Festival in the event’s XR Market, Stay Alive My Son details the story of a survivor of the Cambodian genocide.
  • Thief Simulator VR: Greenview Street is “coming soon” to PSVR 2.
  • Ghosts of Tabor is now supported account link with Discord.
  • GOLF+ revealed it two billion shots have been beaten in-game and over 17 million rounds have been played.
  • Quest App Lab games no longer display a warning screen when you view their store page, instead providing a short disclaimer.
  • Pavlov released minor update 30.1 with map tweaks and slight modkit changes.
